TRU REIGN
CABERNET SAUVIGNON - TIERRA DE CASTILLA, SPAIN

TRU-REIGN.jpg

WINE PROFILE

Surprisingly aromatic, Tru Reign opens with striking red berry fruit aromas along with hints of earth and savory herbs. All the elements that make Spain such a special place for growing grapes come together effortlessly in the glass, where our classically styled Cabernet displays the elegance that is possible in this beautiful region. The palate shows a deep core of dark fruit – cassis, dark berry and plum, enshrouded by notes of freshly tilled earth and mint. Finishes with fine tannins and a lingering note of pipe tobacco and thyme.

FOOD COMBINATIONS:
Ham, roast turkey, burgers, stuffed Portobella mushrooms, green bean casserole, aged Cheddar cheese.

TIERRA CASTILLA STAR IS BORN

Despite being the world’s most famous red grape variety, Cabernet Sauvignon hasn’t really gotten a foothold in one of it’s largest wine producers – Spain. Judging by the quality of this Spanish cab, however, things might be changing. Our Cabernet is carefully selected from select hillside plots in the ancient growing region of Tierra De Castilla in Spain, protected from direct exposure to the daytime heat.

Vineyard location is critical to maintain Cabernet’s distinct varietal character – too much sun or heat, and it’s tannins turn bitter, it’s mouthfeel dull, it’s aromatics suppressed. We chose this Spanish cab due to its combination of new and familiar - It’s unmistakably Cab, yet with a Spanish twist. Say “Buenas Noches” to the boring international cabs of yesterday, and “Hola” to the future of Cabernet – Spain.

WINEMAKING PROCESS

Tru Reign is harvested and de-stemmed completely, allowing us greater control over the fermentation and extraction processes, in the goal of expressing purity and elegance in our Spanish Cabernet. Fermentation and aging takes place in a mix of stainless steel and oak, smoothing out Tru Reign’s tannins and building depth in the finished wine.
